The work is really picking on this project over the last 5 weeks. Blasting was required in various areas of the site, which we were able to salvage by crushing and placing behind a majority of the building foundations. At that point, the retaining wall could begin, as we imported suitable material to serve as back fill.

With the majority of the Storm Drainage and Retaining walls in place we able to control the rain water runoff, which allows us to fill in some of the Silt Ponds (shown here.) This will allows us to make more room for the parking garage that will be placed in this area where the pond formerly existed.
Chestnut Townhomes
At this point we have begun to install the water and sewer utilities. We have encountered solid rock, which will have to be both hammered and blasted to remove. Like always, safety is the #1 concern in this situation for both onsite personnel, as well as neighboring properties and residents.

Now that the builders are well underway on the lower area, we can focus our efforts toward the upper end of the project to prepare more sites. The retaining walls have been partially installed to allow us to move on with the site work. With the remaining Storm Drainage installed we are on the verge of being ready for the General Contractor to continue to construct more units

With Building #1 & #2 right in the middle of the "rough in" stage, we are still focusing on completing as much grading and storm drainage as possible, so as to keep the footer contractors plenty of completed building pads. At this point there are a lot of moving parts that must work together to remain safe and on schedule.

At this point we are installing the Storm Drainage at the lowest point of the site, which will eventually empty clean water at controlled rate onto the neighboring property. This system is designed to prevent flash flood rain storms from washing out areas below. Some of the areas excavated for this installation reveal some unsuitable soils which will need to be exported and replaced with suitable soils for back fill and proper compaction
Wallace Propane Site
This site is on the west end of Boone, NC and soon to be the home of the family owned and operated Wallace Propane. Formerly, this was used as a borrow pit, where contractors would export dirt to various locations in the area. Once enough dirt had been removed, we were able to come in, prep the site and export any remaining fill dirt. Once the banks were sloped, stone placed, and hydro seeding applied, we are excited to see Wallace Propane expand to a location to allow them to continue to grow!
Skyline Terrace
With the Clubhouse underway, the GC was also able to get footers poured on 3 other buildings. At this point it is important for us to be able to keep the pace, and make sure we open on other portions or the site for further progress
Skyline Terrace
The footer/foundation crews have moved in on our Skyline Terrace site, and big things are really starting to take place. One key factor, which is on everyone's mind at this point, is safety. There will be many moving parts onsite, as the weather has started to cooperate, and everyone involved will be looking out for each other to ensure that we all get home safe.
Chestnut Project.
Our latest commercial site here in Blowing Rock NC, is off and running. The demolition crew has done a wonderful job with the removal of the former Blowing Rock Hospital, which will open the site up for the Erosion Control measures to be installed and site prep and cleanup to follow shortly.
